Stigmittens, or is it Stigmitta?
Quick and dirty:
Worsted Weight yarn in your variety of flesh tone. Bits of worsted weight in blood tones.
Size 3 and size 6 knittingneedles (you may wish to go with size 5s, especially if your hands are small.)
tapestry needle
Cast on 36 stitches on size 3 needles..
Work a K2 P2 rib for about an inch.
Change to size 6 needles, and work stockingette stitch for about 5 inches (or for almost as long as you want them)
Change back to size 3 needles, and work a K2 P2 rib for about half an inch.
Bind off all stitches in pattern.
Follow chart below to duplicate stitch the stigmata in place on each side
Sew up the sides, leaving a space for your thumb.
Enjoy the angst.

suggest leaving the nail holes open. you could display them with, say, a railroad spike through the hole, or hang them on coathooks. etc.
maybe spell INRI on the cuff.
Today at work I kept thinking...stigmittens...and laughed every time. Thank you :)
I love it - you are a sick woman, but it's very Pythonesque.
Oh my, this is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long, long time. I'm sure that I'm going straight to hell, do not pass Go, do not collect $200...
Thanks for the inspiration - sure wish I had some similarly twisted friends to share it with!!
hahaha.- great. i will not make s stigma probably but will use the shape, maybe a bit elongated, for some kinda other funny project:)
